A round table top of 95 to 120 cm goes on the 72 × 72 cm matrix base, a round top of 120 to 150 cm on the 92 × 92 cm base. For an oval, Danish oval or rectangular top of 160 to 200 cm, choose the 145 × 70 cm base; from 200 to 240 cm, the 180 × 80 cm base. With the 5 cm top on it, your table is 76 cm high, the standard height of a dining table. The base comes in two parts and the screws are included.
| Table top | Base | Base size (l × w) | Top overhang per side |
|---|---|---|---|
| Round Ø 95 to 115 cm | Matrix round, small | 72 × 72 cm | 11.5 to 21.5 cm |
| Round Ø 120 cm | Matrix round, small or large | 72 × 72 or 92 × 92 cm | 24 cm (small) or 14 cm (large) |
| Round Ø 125 to 150 cm | Matrix round, large | 92 × 92 cm | 16.5 to 29 cm |
| Oval, Danish oval or rectangular, 160 to 190 cm long | Matrix elongated, 145 cm | 145 × 70 cm | length 7.5 to 22.5 cm, width 10 cm |
| Oval, Danish oval or rectangular, 200 × 100 cm | Matrix elongated, 145 or 180 cm | 145 × 70 or 180 × 80 cm | 27.5 and 15 cm (145) or 10 and 10 cm (180) |
| Oval, Danish oval or rectangular, 210 to 240 cm long | Matrix elongated, 180 cm | 180 × 80 cm | length 15 to 30 cm, width 10 to 15 cm |
Overhang = (top size − base size) ÷ 2, measured straight from the outside of the base. On a round, oval or Danish oval top the edge curves, so the base comes closer to the edge there. Every combination in the table is 76 cm high in total.
All bases are made of steel with a matt black powder coating and have the same matrix shape, also known as a spider base. So you only choose the size that fits your top.

Which base fits a round table top?
For round tops there is the round matrix base in two sizes. The small 72 × 72 cm base is intended for Ø 95 to 120 cm, the large 92 × 92 cm base for Ø 120 to 150 cm. With a 120 cm top you can therefore choose. With the large base, 14 cm of top remains per side; with the small one, 24 cm.
Which base fits an oval, Danish oval or rectangular top?
The elongated matrix base is available for tops from 160 to 240 cm. The 145 × 70 cm base goes with tops from 160 to 200 cm, the 180 × 80 cm base with 200 to 240 cm. At 200 × 100 cm both fit. With the large base the top then overhangs 10 cm on all sides; with the small one 27.5 cm at the ends and 15 cm at the sides.
How far does the base stay from the edge?
You can work that out yourself: subtract the base size from the top size and divide by two. An oval top of 220 × 110 cm on the 180 × 80 cm base therefore overhangs 20 cm at the ends and 15 cm at the sides. A matrix base stands in the middle, so there are no legs at your knees along the sides.

How high will your table be?
Table top and base together are 76 cm high, measured from the floor to the top of the table top. That is the standard height of a dining table, so your existing dining chairs will usually fit just fine. With the adjustable feet you can level the table, even on a floor that is not completely flat. Rule of thumb for the chair: there is about 30 cm between the seat and the top of the table, so a seat height of around 46 cm fits well.
How do you assemble the table top and base?
The base is supplied in two parts and is easy to assemble yourself with the screws provided. It weighs 10 kg (72 × 72 cm), 11 kg (92 × 92 cm), 14 kg (145 × 70 cm) or 15 kg (180 × 80 cm).
Tip: lay the top upside down on a blanket or the cardboard from the packaging, so the top surface does not get scratched. Place the base in the middle, so the top overhangs evenly all round. Then turn the table over with two people; a solid 5 cm top is heavy.
Why put it together yourself?
You decide the combination. You choose the shape, the wood species, the edge and the colour of the top, and the base that fits the size. Already have a base, or want something different later? Then you only buy what you need. Browse the table bases in both versions.
