A 160 cm oval dining table seats 6 people comfortably, 200 cm seats 7 (maximum 8), 220 cm seats 8 and 240 cm seats 8 (maximum 10). For the room, allow the length and width of the table plus about 2.3 metres: an oval table of 200 × 100 cm fits in a dining room of at least 4.3 × 3.3 metres.

Why do people choose an oval dining table?

190 to 210 cm: 7 to 8 people
From 200 cm, seven people sit generously and eight still sit well. This is a good size if you regularly eat with family or friends. The table is 100 cm wide, so there is room in the middle for serving dishes.
220 to 240 cm: 8 to 10 people
For large families and people who love long dinners. At 240 cm eight people sit generously and ten if needed. Allow for a room at least 4.5 to 4.7 metres long.
